The Sueños Grant

Growing up, I was the kid in class who the teacher was always calling out for daydreaming. My
mind just loved to travel. Books and art were my muse throughout my school years, and then
Mexico, as soon as I turned eighteen.

In a way I was following in my great grandmother’s footsteps. An artist and creator herself, she
moved to Mexico in her thirties by herself to live and paint and create – living in San Miguel de
Allende decades before San Miguel was “cool”. One of my most treasured pieces of art is a
piece painted by her of La Parroquia, the neo-gothic parish church of San Miguel that is now
one of the most photographed churches in Mexico. She was part of the vanguard of my
inspiration for believing that I could choose any path I wanted no matter how far outside the
norm it was and if I put my heart and soul into it, succeed.
Her passion was her art, her desire to create, and her belief that she could pursue her passion
and her dreams wherever she wanted and however she wanted. And she did so in wonderful
style.

It wasn’t easy for her; chasing dreams by nature isn’t, but she persevered and succeeded and
inspired me to do the same.

Making a spectacular tequila that captures the essence of Mexico and the beauty of its culture
and its people has been one of my dreams and it’s taken years of passionate pursuit to bring
you Sueños Global Tequila. I could not have done it alone. It is said it takes a village to raise a
child, and the same goes for dreams.

I knew this going into this project, and it’s why since the beginning a big part of my dream was
to create a grant program for other artists and creatives to help them pursue their dreams. It’s
funded 100% from the sales of Sueños Global Tequila, and we are proud to announce that we
are taking applications for our first grant to be awarded at the end of the year.
The Sueños Fund is more than just a financial grant. It’s also access to mentoring and
connections in the business and art communities and a promise to provide any and all help we
can to help that individual realize their dreams.

We are accepting applications until December 1st, and we’ll announce the selected recipient and the
grant amount on December 30th. We invite you to share your journey with us and tell us how this grant
